The SSW+ engines are equipped with piston cooling jets that spray oil on the bottom of the pistons. This pump was designed to supply enough oil for the jets, and the rest of the engine. Although the outside is similar to the regular S&S billet pumps, the inside is different. Amongst others wider gears are used. Pump is available with choice of 2 covers. The stock style cover have feed & return holes in stock location. Features include: *New tooth profile on feed & return gears for more volume *9% wider feed gears *28% wider return gears *Same thickness as stock pumps. Stock drive shaft is re-used *With Standard style cover: Feed & return holes in stock location *With Universal style cover: Several feed & return options HVHP oil pumps can be used on all 92-99 style type crankcases. *Note: The pump kit includes both drive gears & an S&S steel breather valve and shim kit. Note that drive gears, supplied in the 'Pump Kit', will fit 84-89 pinion shafts only (models with multiple parts flywheels) and will not fit late OEM 90-99 straight pinion shafts that are one-piece with the flywheels. Universal cover The extra wide return & feed gears in the HVHP oil pump S&S HVHP OIL PUMP HIGH VOLUME HIGH PRESSURE Oil pump installing Do not underestimate the installation of another oil pump. Alway s carefully follow the installation instructions that are supplied wi th the oil pump. If you have any doubt about a successful installatio n, let your dealer install it for you. Note: OEM oil pump bodies, covers and gaskets look similar to S&S and JIMS parts, but are different. These must never be mixe d. An S&S crankcase drill jig is available as MCS 518150. 73-99 Big Twins An oil pump for 73-99 Big Twin may not automatically fit all 73-9 9 model years. The JIMS Flow-Pro 1 oil pump increases oil scavenging (return) when compared with stock pumps. Less oil dragging on the flywheels is more power to the engine. All four oil pump feed and return gears are individually matched to each oil pump body, creating a maximum efficiency pump. Choice from top or bottom oil line connections. Note: 73-81 cases will require one simple drilling step, for which the S&S oil pump drill jig (MCS 518150) can be used. No provisions are made for front or rear chain oiling.
