Super rugged reproductions of the genuine Hitachi starter motors as used on 1974-early 1976 Sportster, late 1982-1984 FL, 1974-1988 FX, 1984-1988 FLT and late 1983-1988 FXR. This type of starter motor is commonly referred to as "short type". All components are interchangeable with OEM starter motors. Note: Hitachi and Prestolite starter motors nor replacement parts are interchangeable, always check the type of starter motor used on your Harley before ordering. Hitachi starters are 80mm in diameter and have a 145mm housing length. Prestolite starters are 70mm in diameter and have a 173mm housing length.
