These gears have the same ratio, but more teeth. This was done to cut-down on transmission noise. If you want to replace a gear, using the pre-1995 design (like JIMS and most other aftermarket manufacturers supply) note that you must also replace the corresponding gear with a 'nonhigh contact design'. Always use matching sets. Only the 1st. gear countershaft and 1st gear mainshaft have remained identical. All other gears specified in this catalog as 95-06 are the high contact design type.
